Rocks Retreat is a privately owned beachfront estate offering 335 feet of pristine Atlantic Ocean frontage across 12 secluded acres. Located along Eleuthera’s famed “Gold Coast” on Banks Road, this hidden gem delivers rare privacy and exceptional value in the heart of the desirable Governors Harbour area. The property features two charming cottages connected by a tiled patio, and both are always included with your stay—ensuring complete seclusion and exclusive use of the entire estate.

The Main Cottage is a 24-by-24-foot, two-story structure surrounded by a broad wraparound veranda that invites ocean breezes and relaxed island living. The upper level is a spacious open bedroom with two queen beds and one twin bed, framed by expansive windows and two balconies with scenic views of the surrounding natural landscape and ocean. Downstairs, the cottage opens into a comfortable great room that combines a  kitchen, dining area, and living space. The bathroom is located on the first floor. While compact, the kitchen is well equipped for everyday needs. An outdoor rain shower on the veranda—highly recommended—adds to the authentic island experience.

The separate Master Suite Cottage is a spacious, one-story king bedroom retreat with a private en suite bath. It includes a comfortable sitting area, a dedicated desk workspace, and a double-sink bathroom with both a soaking tub and a separate shower. A welcoming front veranda and a second outdoor rain shower completes this private sanctuary.

Set back approximately 100 yards from the ocean, Rocks Retreat is uniquely positioned near the dramatic Culmer’s Rocks, which naturally divide the north and south beaches. Guests enjoy private access to both world-famous pink sand beaches, which are typically uncrowded and serene. The estate is beautifully landscaped with palmettos, stately palms, and native vegetation, all carefully maintained by our gardener. With 12 acres entirely to yourself, tranquility is guaranteed.

Modern comforts include Starlink internet, air conditioning on the second level of the Main Cottage and the first floor of the Master Suite Cottage, a washer and dryer, Sonos speakers, and a charcoal and gas grill. WiFi allows guests to stream movies and shows on two televisions located in the Main Cottage. Beach chairs, umbrella, and coolers are also provided for your days by the ocean or sea.

If you’re new to Eleuthera, it’s helpful to know that occasional power or water interruptions are part of island life. The property is equipped with a backup well for extended outages, though there is no generator—just an authentic Bahamian experience.

For long-term stays, housekeeping service is provided every two weeks, including weekly garbage removal. Additional cleaning can be arranged before arrival or on-site directly with our housekeeper, Marsha Clark, at an additional cost.

Rocks Retreat sits along the prestigious Banks Road in Governors Harbour, just one mile from the beloved Tippy’s Restaurant, The Potlatch Club, and a five-minute drive from the town center. Governors Harbour offers grocery stores, restaurants, liquor stores, bakeries, banks with ATMs, gift shops, and a dive shop. Its picturesque harbor is lined with historic 19th-century homes and churches. Fresh fish and lobster can often be purchased directly from fishermen at the town dock. On Friday nights, the famous Governors Harbour Fish Fry transforms the street and beach into a lively celebration of food, music, dancing, and community—an unforgettable island tradition you won’t want to miss.
