Coriolana sits overlooking the fabulous 5-mile pink sand beach on Windermere Island. A visit to Windermere offers tranquility, privacy and the restorative beauty of nature; fresh home-made bread and vegetables from the Farm shop, and delicious rum cocktails add to the pleasure. The pace of life slows, books get read, and there is all the time in the world for sunrise walks and sunset swims, snorkeling on the reefs and diving for conch.
Considered to be one of the most beautifully designed houses on Windermere, Coriolana has wonderful inside and outside living spaces. The wrap-around terrace overlooking the Atlantic, and the tranquil courtyard around the swimming pool both offer seating and dining areas. The elegant living room looks out across the turquoise sea to the East and the swimming pool to the West, through glorious french windows. Each bedroom opens out onto the terrace, and offers direct access to the beach, down a picturesque stairway, and the sound of the surf soothes you to sleep.
The master bedroom has a lovely large four-poster bed, and a large en-suite bathroom with both bath and shower. Bedroom 2 can adjoin for family use, or be separate, as both have direct access to the pool and to the beach. All bedrooms and living areas have very efficient air-condition, but the sea-breeze and the ceiling fans means that it is rarely needed. All four bedrooms have en-suite bathrooms & ocean views. The three guest bedrooms have twin beds that can be converted to kings beds.
The kitchen is fully equipped and there is also a great new barbecue. Other amenities include air conditioning throughout, WIFI, TV via a fire stick (but not cable), kayaks, bikes, snorkel gear, gas grill a back up generator, and a back up water system. We have a palapa on the beach for shade.
We provide a 4-hour maid-service daily except Saturdays; more can be arranged as can cooking and babysitting.
While you are staying you also have temporary membership at the Club At Windermere, where you can use the tennis courts, heated pool, small gym, TV/library (open year round), and restaurant and bar (open November to May).
There is another excellent new oceanfront restaurant in Savannah Sound, five minutes away by car, called Fishbone Beach Bar and Grill, which is open year-round. There’s also a grocery store, Midway Cost Cotters, in Savannah Sound.
Local boats will take you fishing on the reefs and exploring the mangroves, following the turtles, diving for conch and searching for starfish. A twenty minute drive takes you to some excellent restaurants and if you are missing the hustle and bustle then an hour and a half drive takes you to Harbour Island and its vibrant night-life.

House and property were very spacious. Great having own private beach and own pool. Loved the large main room and dining table. 4 large bedrooms, each with own bathroom. 3 outdoor eating options. Kitchen had a lot of pots, pans, plates, 2 ovens, gas stovetop, microwave, toaster oven, toaster, coffee machine, fridge / freezer and water cooler station. Pantry had a few herbs and spices available.
We really enjoyed the pool area and spent a lot of time there. Bathroom off pool area was good and access to kitchen from pool area was great.
Check-in was easy as nothing was locked so we just showed up and unpacked.
Housekeeper was great and responsive.

With gracious assistance of house manager, Bobette, who kindly organised so much for us from airport pick up with car rental to bone fishing, grocery shopping and catering. The house is reminiscent of a Mustique English- style villa and beautifully appointed with lots of entertaining space and well equipped kitchen. All looking at the fabulous blue ocean.

I almost didn’t want to write this review because I didn’t want to share my secret place. My wife and two kids traveled to Eleuthera and rented this house on the beach. It was so beautiful that we’re are thinking about going back every year. Outside of the beautiful beach and the lovely historic home, the highlight was the wonderful house keeper Bobbett who got all the groceries we needed and even cooked us an amazing Valentine’s Day romantic candlelit dinner on the deck porch which was a surprise for my was such a wonderful school, definitely the place to go if you want to have some privacy.

We had a wonderful stay at Coriolana. The house is beautiful with an easy walk to the beach. We had a full house with 2 grandchildren. They loved the beach and the pool.
We were very well taken care of by the caretaker, Bobbett. She is a lovely lady who did so much for us.
Windermere island is very secluded and private which was a big plus for us. The Club is really nice. we had a fabulous dinner there one night. The food was excellent.
My only comment is that when looking at the ammenities when searching for a house, the Windermere Club is not as advertised. It was shut down years ago and only recently opened with JUST dining. They have a pool and tennis, but no boat rental, kayaks, jet skis etc. Luckily we knew that before going in, and were not interested in that.
We rented 2 days of boating from a great captain from Cape Eleuthera. He took us to LightHouse Point which is a MUST SEE...before Disney destroys it.
All in all...a fabulous trip. I would recommend this place to anyone.

Just to clarify, old Windermere club closed perhaps 20 years ago, and the current club opened a few years after the old one closed. The club never offered (nor advertised) boat rentals, kayaks, jet skis, etc.. It has a restaurant, bar, fitness room, heated pool, and tennis.
