The architect designed HoHum House has one of the most private and spectacular beachfront locations on Windermere Island. HoHum is a vintage bungalow-style home that blends seamlessly into the surrounding tropical landscape. It is a beautiful older home, that does need some updating, but offers an unbeatable location and layout for tropical living, and smart interior design, including tile floors and high vaulted ceilings throughout. All rooms also provide ocean breezes and beach views through large glass picture-windows and floor-to-ceiling sliding doors in nearly every room. HoHum also offers wrap-around waterfront patios for outdoor dining and sunbathing. Some improvements and upgrades are planned in the near future (mostly just exterior items, painting & driveway work) but in the meantime, this beachfront gem is offered at discounted rental rates to guests who don’t mind a comfortable well-designed home with a few minor imperfections, in exchange for one of the best beach house locations in the world.

Relax in total privacy on pristine coral-sand beach. This home is perfect for couples and families with kids, and it includes a separate guest house/art studio. Both the main house and guest house overlook 165 feet of pink sand beach with a calm turquoise sea (the beach is protected by a coral reef, so it is especially great for kids & swimming). The beach also has powder-soft sand made from coral, so it is cool to walk and play on at all times, and it extends 5 miles for leisurely strolls in either direction. HoHum offers a very private location (with few neighbors), and Windermere Island is a secure gated island community, just over tiny bridge from the main island of Eleuthera. The location is a haven for sunbathing, swimming, and snorkeling straight from the house.

The main house has two spacious bedrooms, both with their own full ensuite baths. The ‘master-bedroom’ has a king bed, office nook/sitting area, and a large bathroom with double vanity sinks, bathtub/shower, and separate toilet, as well as a private gated garden area with outdoor shower. The 2nd full bedroom is also spacious with its own patio, 2 twin beds (easily convertible to king) and dressing area with double vanity sinks, plus a separate bathroom with sink, shower, & toilet. Both main house bedrooms have private patios and face the ocean, offering breathtaking water views and amazing sunrises. The bedrooms also offer privacy for 2 couples sharing the house, as they book-end the home’s large high-ceilinged living room, dining area, full kitchen, and gorgeous glass-walled sunroom/breezeway with large dining table and extra sitting area. The sunroom/breezeway sitting area also offers a good-quality (full-size) futon for kids or an extra sleeper. The house has patios wrapping all the way around, perfect for sunbathing, outdoor dining, and enjoying unforgettable sunrises and sunsets.

HoHum also offers a bonus separate art studio/guest house, overlooking the ocean, about 100ft from main house. It can provide additional private sleeping space if needed and has 2 twin beds (easily convertible to king), plus a small bed nook suitable for a small/young child. The studio also has its own ocean view patio, a kitchenette, and a very small full bathroom with toilet, sink, and shower only. It was originally designed for use as an art studio, so it is an amazing space for painting, lots of counter space for art projects, and a large island with an extra artist's sink (some easels are available) and views of the beach and sea are everywhere!

SPECIAL NOTE on A/C FOR SUMMER RENTALS: The main house’s living room, kitchen, and sunroom/breezeway have full sliders and/or ceilings fans, but do not have A/C (only the two main house bedrooms/baths, and guest house are fully air conditioned). However, due to Windermere’s famous almost-always-breezy oceanfront location, A/C is not usually necessary most months of the year, but it is always available in the bedrooms. Summers can be hot in main areas of house if you are sensitive to tropical heat.
