Welcome to Sapphire—a modern, chic Bahamian retreat with an elevated saltwater pool, glass-wall indoor/outdoor living, two full kitchens, and three private suites.  Sapphire is located just 300 steps to a spectacular pink-sand beach with great swimming and snorkeling.  It is directly on the property of the boutique resort La Bougainvillea with its excellent restaurant and bar.  Other fine-dining restaurants including Tippy’s, Potlatch, and 1648, and well as the island’s main town, Governors Harbour, are just minutes away by car.

This two-level home is built for both togetherness and privacy: A showpiece main level on the upper floor for hosting and indoor–outdoor living, plus a lower level with a second kitchen and two private guest suites.  The guest suites are accessed from both the downstairs kitchen and via private deck entries off the beach path for a boutique-hotel feel.

The Main Level of Sapphire:
Washed-oak floors, 10’ ceilings, a clean modern palette and sweeping views set the stage, and the architecture does the rest. A full expanse of floor-to-ceiling glass sliders runs across the living room and opens wide to the elevated pool deck, creating that rare, true seamless indoor–outdoor feel: step out barefoot, dip in, come back in with a cocktail, and the house never breaks its rhythm.

The great room is intentionally oversized and styled like a private coastal lounge, with two distinct seating areas so the whole group can spread out. Add the 65” plasma TV for effortless nights in, and the antique chess and backgammon table that turns “one quick game” into an entire evening.

The Upstairs Kitchen:
Open, bright, and genuinely gourmet, the upstairs kitchen is designed for real cooking and real entertaining. The island bar counter keeps everyone together with comfortable seating—perfect for morning coffee, grazing lunches, and pre-dinner champagne. High-end appliances and smart extras (including dishwasher and air fryer) make it as functional as it is beautiful.

The “Drunk Monkey” Wet Bar:
This is the house’s personality in one corner: the famed “Drunk Monkey” wet bar, wrapped in iconic blue-and-white wallpaper featuring whimsical monkeys sipping cocktails, with a quartz counter, brass sink, wine fridge, and a proper martini setup. It’s a built-in ritual—shake, pour, toast, repeat.

The Pool Deck:
Step through the sliders and the elevated pool terrace becomes an extension of the living room—lounging, dining, and golden-hour watching, all in one flow.  Saltwater pool with bench seating, teak daybed and club chairs surrounding the firepit, and expandable dining seating for 8. 

The Master Suite:
With washed-oak floors, 10’ ceilings, and wraparound 180° views, the room reads like a private penthouse set above a sea of palms: light, airy, and serenely removed from the world.  A king bed anchors the space, while two separate seating areas—including a pair of upholstered swivel club chairs, and dramatic cane egg chairs—invite everything from early-morning reading to late-night conversation. Thoughtful function is built in: a bamboo work desk, dimmable modern ceiling lighting, ceiling fan, and built-in USB/USB-C ports so the room works as effortlessly as it photographs.  A large closet with custom built-ins completes the suite, giving it that rare rental luxury: the ability to actually unpack, organize, and settle in.

The primary bath is designed with the same architectural intention as the rest of the home—elegant, modern, and intelligently laid out. It connects discreetly to the main living area for convenience, yet maintains complete privacy via a dedicated door to the bedroom—ideal for mornings when the house is waking up in layers.  Inside, the finishes feel crisp and elevated: LED mirrors add a clean glow, while the oversized step-in shower makes a statement with glass-stone flooring and a rain-shower head.

Step outside to the master suite’s private deck, styled for the best parts of island life: a lounger for sun-soaked afternoons and seating for two that’s practically made for morning espressos and romantic evening cocktails—just you, the breeze, and the view.

The Hidden Door Suite
Tucked behind a secret bookcase door, this suite feels like a private hideaway. Inside, you’ll find a flexible sleeping setup with two XL twin beds that can convert to a king upon request.   This suite has a dedicated breakfast/coffee area with a fridge and Keurig—perfect for early risers who want quiet mornings without heading into the shared downstairs kitchen or upstairs main level. Step outside to the showstopper: a spa-style outdoor bathing sanctuary with a beautiful outdoor tub and a deck shower with teak flooring—private, serene, and unforgettable.  Step down from your private deck to the beach path and in 300 steps you’ll be in the famed crystal clear turquoise Bahamian waters for your morning swim.

The Ocean Deck Suite
The suite features a king bed, bamboo work desk, a 55” plasma TV and a luxurious en suite bath with a large walk-in shower.  The Ocean Deck Suite opens to a private deck through large sliding doors.  The deck has a private outdoor shower, conversation seating with a firepit, and an outdoor dining table.  The Ocean Deck Suite connects seamlessly to the beach path, so guests can come and go privately.

Amenities at Sapphire include lightning-fast Starlink internet, AC throughout, ceiling fans, 55” plasma TVs in all suites and 65” plasma TV in the main living room, USB/USB-C charging ports in every room, three Keurig machines + Nespresso on the main level, two outdoor showers, two fire pits, balconies and decks galore, snorkel gear, a surfboard, and a back-up generator.
